Reorientate the house to capture the surrounding mountains, and create a entrance to the home. This was a large scale renovation and adds in excess of 50% of the area of the original home.
The owner now has a dedicated office to run their business from and we were able to create a large entertaining space which links with the pool area.
This was an extensive renovation with over 50% of the home demolished to allow for the creation of a very special new space. Our one aim was to create a modern, light filled space for the client, while keeping much of the character of the surrounding area. The street front of the house was restored to its original condition and then enhanced with a new picket fence and lush landscaping. The new exterior of the home was in keeping with the street front facade, and that of the surrounding neighbours, but does not give away the modern interior. A new lounge, dining, kitchen, laundry, powder room and bathroom were created. We were able to create a large modern, custom built kitchen, which suited the Client’s entertaining lifestyle. We worked closely with the client, who was an owner builder, to ensure the project meet both budget and program constraints. With this design we have brought together a blend of contemporary Australian architecture and Asian influences. The large decks at the front and rear of the house, and opening up the internal main living spaces will, during the summer months, allow the owner to open up the house and creates a giant indoor / outdoor room.
This project is currently under construction.
This was the ideal location, north facing onto a large body of water at the end of quite street. The house had been used as a holiday home for many years, and the new owners wanted to expand to accommodate their family.
The project rejuvenated certain aspects of the home, while introducing new elements and energy saving concepts.
This is a working cattle station in the heart of Australila. After a generation the new owners decided that the managers residence could do with a renovation. The last time the house had been touched was in the 1960's.
We needed to give the house some of the basics of a modern home, such as electric lights in all rooms and internal toliets to the bathrooms.
The house now runs off a solar power station.

Our client bought a small brick cottage which was in need of a lot of love. The client wanted to capture the coastal feel of the Gold Coast, to enhance the properties close location to the ocean. This was a complete transformation of a small cottage into a modern large family home. Only one of the original walls remains, but allowed for this amazing transformation. We worked closely with both the client and the builder from the onset of this project. All parties meet often on site to ensure a steady progress of construction and to allow for certain elements of the design to evolve as the build continued. We were able to help the client with many of the important details of their home such as the lighting design, power layouts and kitchen design. Cost :$300,000+ Design Period : 3 Months Construction Period : 6 Months
We were approached by a young couple wishing to create a unique home out of their beautiful 1930’s brick cottage. Though small renovations had been completed the client’s were seeking a large increase in space. The design took advantage of the natural fall of the site to allow for large volume spaces. With the rear of the home facing north the orientation allowed us to open up the rear of the home which in turn created an interaction with the rear yard, bringing the outdoors in. The second floor addition, which accommodates the master bedroom, walk in robe and ensuite is nearly invisible from the street. The new elements were deliberately treated differently from the existing residence to create a bold statement.
